ROBBIE Williams has had up and downers with everyone from Jimmy Page to Liam Gallagher – but the latest clash is his most unlikely yet.
The singer is at war with luxury brand Yves Saint Laurent.
I told in July how the singer was branching out and planning to launch a beauty brand called Hopeium and had applied to trademark the name.
But now I’ve learned the fashion and cosmetics giant is attempting to thwart his plans, believed to be due to the similarity to one of the brand’s big-selling scents, Black Opium Eau de Parfum.
The French firm has formally filed an opposition to his trademark application with the Intellectual Property Office.
Paperwork had suggested Robbie had planned to use the name to launch a range of perfumes as well as skincare products including cleansers, serums and moisturisers.

A source said: “This has put a spanner in the works for Robbie.
“Nothing can proceed until a decision has been reached.
“It could be costly if he has to go back to the drawing board when it comes to the name because that could impact the whole brand and how it is marketed.
“YSL feels it has a case if Robbie is selling similar products.
“It’s intervention has caused headaches all around.”

Thankfully though, below I’ve put on my thinking cap and come up with a few Robbie-themed names the superstar could use for his range instead.
Robbie has enough to keep him busy without having to deal with lawyers.
He has only recently released his latest album, XXV, and completed a national tour.
At the weekend he performed two special shows at the Royal Albert Hall for his upcoming biopic Better Man, which he has been working on for months.
That’s not to mention the art he has been creating, having launched his first exhibition in May.
I just hope he’s got some samples of his skincare and scent products at home — it will be especially useful after his hectic year.
OTHER NAMES FOR ROB’S RANGE
- Life Thru A Compact Lens
- Someskin Stupid
- Old Before I Apply
- I’m Loving Hand Gels Instead
- All I Do Each Night Is Spray
- How Deep is Your Loofah?
- A Million Loofah Songs
- Rouge The World
Kylie looks glovely
KYLIE JENNER was leathered before her night had even started when she wore this tight minidress and matching gloves.
The reality tv star and cosmetics mogul was heading for dinner at celebrity hotspot Carbone in New York in this impractically tiny outfit.
However, one benefit of wearing something like this is that she didn’t have to worry about getting food down her, as she could simply wipe it off.
And the top half of her outfit, a flowing multicoloured cape, was so brightly coloured that you would barely be able to notice a stain.
I hope she enjoyed herself, because the prices are extortionate, with one portion of broccoli setting you back £16.50.
Mind you, given she’s a billionaire, I highly doubt she has to worry about the cost of living crisis like the rest of us.
Rebel shares baby battle
REBEL WILSON went through a secret battle to conceive a baby but was left devastated when it didn’t work.
The Australian actress announced on Monday how she had welcomed daughter Royce via a surrogate.
And but now she has opened up on her struggles to become a parent, just as Jennifer Aniston did this week.
Rebel said the process was especially tough because she was going through it while making her film The Almond And The Seahorse, which is out next month, in which her character Sarah has a desperate desire to become a mum.
Rebel said: “During the filming I received some terrible news that all my harvested eggs up until that point had not survived being thawed.
“So I’d lost a huge amount of weight and been through three surgeries and no viable embryos. It was devastating.”
However, she added in People magazine: “I knew that my desire to become a mother was so strong that I needed to keep trying.
“It was feelings of loss, feelings of hope – and it all played into my performance. It was a very emotional time.”
Lord of the Dans
DANIEL CRAIG is rebounding hard from his sophisticated and suave role as James Bond, performing dodgy dad dancing in a tank top and wearing grills.
The actor looks cringeworthy in a new ad and my photos show him striking some questionable moves.
The two and a half minute clip, set to a fresh collaboration by Rita Ora and Giggs and directed by Rita’s hubby Taika Waititi, sees Daniel strutting his stuff in a swanky Paris hotel and sipping the Belvedere vodka he’s plugging.
As if his moves weren’t bad enough, bosses decided to stick a DC grill on Daniel’s teeth.
His drink may be as cool as ice, but he looks anything but.
Sly move
SYLVESTER STALLONE wants ex heavyweight boxing champ Tyson Fury to join movie hardmen The Expendables – and he is keen to do it.
They are both on tomorrow’s Jonathan Ross Show on ITV and they admit they are keen to work together.
On the prospect of Tyson joining himself and stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in the franchise, Sly said: “I think he’d be fantastic, he’s a natural force of nature and he has charisma so why wouldn’t we want him? As long as he’s on the other side beating up the other guys.”
Asked whether it is something he would do, Tyson replied: “100 percent in the future, it’s something I’d love to explore.
“Who better to help me than the man himself Mr Rocky Balboa? The guy I grew up watching on TV.
“A great opportunity and a great offer and something I’d love to have a go at later when I finish with the boxing career.”
For Saka sake, listen
ENGLAND footie ace Bukayo Saka is calling for fans to think before they speak in the lead up to the World Cup.
He was subject to cruel abuse following the final of the Euros last year and now the forward is part of headphone brand Beats’ new Defy The Noise campaign, which sheds light on the pressures players face off the pitch.
He is in an ad that debuts rapper Slowthai’s single I Know Nothing and also features fellow football hopefuls Serge Gnabry from Germany and French ace Kingsley Coman.
I know it’s said every time an international tournament comes around, but I have a feeling it’s coming home . . .
AFTER ten months on tour, Dua Lipa has her live show – and her outfits – all tied up.
She landed in Melbourne, Australia, yesterday ahead of the first of two shows there today and posted this snap on Instagram.
The Levitating singer’s hoping the rest of her gigs Down Under go smoother than the one in Sydney this week.
Fans were stuck outside for hours after a ticketing platform crashed, causing a huge delay to her show.
She’s Dua on stage at 8.30pm, so hopefully she makes it this time.
Lourdes so lewd like her mummy
MADONNA has been pushing the boundaries with her songs and comments for four decades – and now her daughter is following in her footsteps.
Lourdes Leon has released debut EP Go, under the stage name Lolahol, and it is even filthier than anything her superstar mum has ever released.
Two of the five songs are so explicit that I can’t even write the titles in full – C**** adiction and Not P***y.
On the latter track, she repeats the explicit slang term for a woman’s genitals a gobsmacking 44 times in 23 seconds.
In the same song, she muses: “I like you, but I don’t give a f**k about you. It’s your choice, I’m not gonna make the first move, I’m lazy.”
Then on Purple Apple she tells someone to “spit on me”.
But it’s not all silliness, as the collection’s second song, Giovanni’s Room, is an emotional listen.
Lolahol sings: “I can’t resist this fate, pretend I don’t exist. Like I had a choice, I trust myself enough to know how to take off.”
And referencing her pop star parent, she continues: “Spend my days watching the TV screen, my mom says I look lost.”
I’m not so convinced this EP will help ease her concerns.
Rudimental here
RUDIMENTAL have lost a member just ahead of their tenth anniversary, as Amir Amor is no longer in the drum & bass band.
I’ve learned he has quietly left the group and they are continuing as a trio with Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden and Leon “Locksmith” Rolle.
It marks the end of an era for the chart-topping group, who have had No1 hits Feel The Love and Waiting All Night and have collaborated with, among others, Ed Sheeran, Becky Hill and James Arthur.
It has also coincided with them splitting from their record label Atlantic, but they have already struck a new deal with Room Two, part of Columbia Records.
Their first tune as a trio is out today Break My Heart – which sees them go back to their hard drum & bass roots.

But it doesn’t look like Amir is going to be twiddling his thumbs.
He has been flexing his muscles as a producer and has just had a hand in Kaiser Chiefs’ new single How 2 Dance, which came out last week.
