As at-home beauty routines received a serious upgrade in recent years, I’ve turned to one facialist-approved skin-care device as an add-on to my regular routine: the NuFace.

I first discovered the microcurrent tool years ago as an intern in the beauty closet back at Condé Nast’s Times Square office and have been hooked ever since. In years past, on set for Vogue’s Beauty Secrets franchise, I’ve watched dozens of It girls pull one out from their beauty bags, hailing it as their “desert island” must-have.

So what’s the deal with the microcurrent technology? Think of the two-pronged massager like a Pilates class for your face. Microcurrent technology stimulates facial muscles in just 10 minutes, tightening saggy skin and improving the appearance of fine lines. My favorite areas to use the handheld are on the edge of my jawline and at the base of my cheekbone—it’s like instant contour.

The NuFace is the ultimate pre-red-carpet staple for A-listers, given its immediate results. And when we asked some of the most in-demand estheticians about their at-home beauty routines, the NuFace topped their list.

Although the skin-care device charges with a wall connector, I’ve found the battery can last up to a few weeks. Since it fits in almost any cosmetic bag, I’ve brought mine on vacation around the world (though curious TSA officers inspected the device in both Dubai and Hong Kong). Before using, I am always sure to clean the prongs with an alcohol wipe and slather on the gel primer. While we’re all looking for solutions to prolong the effects of our last facial, consider the NuFace the best bang for your buck, especially now that the skin-care device is on sale ahead of Cyber Week. Furthermore, read the full NuFace review, too.
