What it is: A new collection of “pore care” products from Benefit Cosmetics.
Article content
One of the top-selling beauty brands in Canada — its brow and mascara products are said to top the list of bestsellers across the country — Benefit is boosting its emphasis on pore products with a new line specifically targeted to take care of the more than 20,000 pores on your face.

Featuring six “high-performance products,” the range includes the: Speedy Smooth pore mask; Good Cleanup foaming cleanser; Deep Retreat clay mask; Tight ‘N Toned AHA and PHA toning foam; Smooth Sip lightweight moisturizer; and Get Unblocked cleansing oil. The pore ritual routine is complemented by the release of a tool, the All-In-One Mask Wand.
What we say: Our tester put this new lineup of products to the test on her combination skin.

The “pore care” products are a packaged in colour-coded hues — yellow, purple and green — to ensure it is easier to pick the ones that will work best in your unique skincare routine.
Our tester found both cleansing products worked well on her skin. The Get Unblocked Pore-Clearing Makeup-Removing Cleansing Oil, which features grape seed, avocado, plum kernel and jojoba seed oil, along with ceramide and Bisabolol (an active ingredient in chamomile), gently cleansed skin while effectively removing the day’s grim. The gel-texture Good Cleanup Pore-Purifying Foaming Cleanser, which boasts lemon extract, Yuzu extract, Bisabolol and sphingolipids (ceramide-like molecules) gave skin a good clean without leaving it feeling stripped.

The Deep Retreat clay mask is a standout of the collection. The dark-purple concoction, which features mineral-rich kaolin clay, sea fennel extract, Bisabolol, prickly pear extract, palm kernel oil and jojoba seed oil, lightens in hue as it dries on the skin. The dermatologist-tested formula pulls oil from the pores, which can be witnessed by small dark spots on the surface of the lavender-lightened mask. Shoutout to the All-in-One Mask Wand in the range, which features a spatula on one end and a double-sided cleansing head on the other to easily spread, smooth and scrub on products.
The Smooth Sip moisturizer, which has a bouncy texture, gave our tester’s skin a nice, lightweight drink of much-needed hydration thanks to ingredients such as Niacinamide, flax seed extracts, squalane and aloe leaf juice to help nourish and re-balance skin.
Where to get it: Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart
